Mail Newspapers – Advertisement booking system

When the Daily Mail Group wanted to replace their well used advertising booking system they turned to a consulting team from Conchango, in just under 18 months a scrum team replaced the existing FoxPro application.

The business critical application is now used by the advertisement sales team to monitor and book advertisement space across the Daily Mail’s print and web offerings was developed by scrum team.

As a software engineer in the team Richard worked on many areas of the application including building the web based user interface using spring 2.5, spring web-flow and JSF for view rendering.

Using elements from spring to deliver this Java application, data storage and retrieval from an Oracle database was accomplished using the Hibernate framework, interactions with other applications was handled by a messaging system using JMS and allowed interfaces with message bus systems with the company.
